bike > trike

my parents do this cool thing where they travel places together every now and then. and, whether out of obligation or not, they invite me to go along with them. this brings up the all-too-familiar dilemma of whether or not i should tag along and be a third wheel.

this past Christmas, they decided to go to NYC on a two-day trip to see the sights, and stay at a hotel for the night. i decided not to go.

a few months ago, they went to washington d.c. to see the cherry blossom festival. didn't go here either.

this week, they're going to atlantic city. now, i haven't been to atlantic city before, unlike the other two places above, so i'm interested in checking it out.

however, the reason i usually don't go with my parents on these mini-vacations is because i want someone to hang out with! i feel like it would just end up being me and my music and be mad boring.

my parents are cute, though.

i want to do this when i get married.

:]

what do you guys think?

WOW THAT IS SO WEIRD. YOU ACTUALLY THINK OF YOURSELF AS THE THIRD WHEEL WITH YOUR PARENTS?!

but ya, you should go to atlantic city, hit up some casinos, get rich, buy me a car. sound good?

haha it is cute they do things like that so much though. if it wasnt such a regular thing for them though id feel the same about giving them space. but since it is, i think they genuinely just want you to come along. or maybe theyre just very different from my parents, who are always complaining i dont spend enough time with them and want me to go out with them. i dont like to cuz, like you said, its boring -__-

hmm i think it would be awesome to do that when married too haha.

as for you being bored when going...depends? i feel like even if there're places you've been to before, you can always find new and different things to do to amuse yourself.

that's super adorable (your parents). and i agree with edgar in that parents love spending time with their kids. so you should try to go! ask them if you can bring a friend along though. friends usually do make a big difference :)

do it! it'll be fun =) maybe you can ask your sister if she wants to come along? maybe it'd feel like more of a family thing then, not a third wheel thing.
